Campus Redwood Bench

Milling these minimalist angled benches designed by SWA Group and installed by Architectural Systems, Inc. created some new challenges not just for us but for our Woodmizer LT70 Portable Sawmill! The sawmill is designed to cut 90 degrees so we had to be creative with custom and wider cuts than the mill is designed for. After spending a day to get the first piece 24"1/4"x18"x10' with chisel edges, we built some jigs to keep the tolerance at 1/16-1/8" over 10'. The result is a unique work of art that brings the forest to this corporate campus outdoor space.
